Professor Dr. Raymond A. Smego (Jr., MD, MPH, FACP, FRCP, DTM&H) is the Associate Dean for Educational Development and Professor of Medicine, Infectious Diseases, & Global Health in The Commonwealth Medical College (TCMC), USA. Dr. Smego has been responsible for providing strategic leadership in the continuum of learning from the clinical educational experiences of medical students to issues involved in the creation of new graduate medical educational (GME) programs (i.e., residency and fellowship programs), lifelong learning through continuing medical education, and faculty development. Also responsible for clinical and educational research, and other new educational programs including Global Health, academic-community collaborations, and new degree-granting programs. Professor Dr. Smego is a member of the International Advisory Board for the 3rd International Online Medical Conference (IOMC 2010).
Professor Smego has won over 15 national & international awards
including Best CME Presentation Award in Sohar Hospital-Oman Medical
College (2007), Who's Who in America Award (2005), Best Speaker in ASTMH
Clinical Tropical Medicine & Parasitology Course, WVU (2004), Inaugural
Member of Faculty of 1000 in Medicine (2004), etc. Dr. Smego has been an invited presenter and speaker in various regional, national and international conferences and sessions.
