Prof. Dr. Sukrija Zvizdic was born in Kakanj, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1951.He is Professor at the Medical Faculty University of Sarajevo. Since 1980. he works at the Institute of Microbiology, Parasitology and Immunology «Dr Robert Fried» in Sarajevo.1995-97 has been working as an assistant lecture at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, and since 1998 works at the department of Microbiology and Parasitology at the Medical Faculty University of Sarajevo. 

He finished his postgraduate study in Croatia at the Medical Faculty University of Zagreb in 1986 and received his PhD at the Medical Faculty university of Sarajevo in 1991.
He was the chief (dean) of the Department of Virology of the Institute of Microbiology and Parasitology «Dr Robert Fried» in Sarajevo from 1986-1993 and vice chief of department of Microbiology and Parasitology at the Medical Faculty University of Sarajevo since 1993.

He participated in many conferences around the world (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Argentina, Turkey, Monte-Negro, Switzerland, etc). His main field is Virology.
He published three university books in General Medical Virology, Medical Virology and Virology and a lot of practicum for students of many faculties in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in other countries. He is very common with modern laboratory techniques in Virology diagnostics.
Also he participated as a project leader and a member of project in six projects and till today has about 112 indexed and non-indexed publications. He can speak to French and English languages.
