Sibel Zeynep Taskin, Bilge Uzun and Sinem Vatanartiran

The main purpose of this study is to develop the BAU Mindfulness Scale (BAU-MSC) for 8-11 years old children. Psychometric properties of the BAUMSC were assessed through three steps classified as Study 1, Study 2 and Study 3. The results of analyses revealed that BAU-MSC had two factors: ‘attitudes’ and ‘full awareness’. Cronbach alpha reliability coefficients of the two factors and whole scale were found to be .74, .65 and .80 respectively. The validity evidence in conjunction with correlational findings (Quality of Life Scale for Children-Student Form) demonstrate that the BAU-MSC has promising psychometric properties and thus can be recommended for use with Turkish children.
