Biography

David Curtis is an Assistant Professor for Baylor College of Medicine. He received a Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Philosophy from University of Houston, USA in 2003 followed by a Postdoctoral program in 2002. He served as an Assistant Professor from 2005 till date. He is the Member of American Psychological Association, Association of Behavior and Cognitive Therapies.He is the Editor-Editorial Board Member of many peer reviewed journals.

Research Interest

Dr. Curtis’ main clinical and research interests include ADHD intervention and community-based primary care delivery of behavioral health services. Dr. Curtis leads the Family Skills Training for ADHD-Related Symptoms (Family STARS) and Pediatric ADHD Intervention Research (PAIRS) intervention studies examining innovative practices in behavioral therapy. Extending upon these interests, he has examined how empirically supported behavioral interventions can be translated for use in community pediatric clinic and public school settings. As Program Coordinator for the Pediatric Primary Care Psychology Program, he has also conducted program evaluation studies in community-based primary care clinics examining non-traditional models of behavioral health services delivery. His primary goals for research are to improve the effectiveness and accessibility of behavioral health services for children and families affected by ADHD, disruptive behavior problems, and other pediatric/child clinical conditions.
