Dr Domenico Merante completed his medical degree in October 1988 at the age of 25 and in October 1993 became specialist of endocrinology and diabetes, both degrees obtained at Pisa University/Italy and St. Chiara Hospital, Pisa. He is currently Head of Frontier/Opportunities & Metabolism and Senior Director of Clinical Development at Daiichi Sankyo Development Ltd. in the UK. He previously worked at GSK, Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk and Lab. Guidotti. Dr Domenico Merante has dedicated over 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry mainly working in clinical research of diabetes, endocrinology, hypertension and neuropathic pain. Dr Merante has published 22 papers and 25 abstracts in reputed journals as main or co-author. One more full paper and two more abstracts were recently submitted to Diabetes Care and to Neuropathy Study Group of the EASD, respectively and are pending for response.
