Professor Tamiya is a leading scholar in biochips, biosensors, and bioanalyses. He has a wide variety of fundamental, as well as topical research interests including nanotechnology-based bioscience and bioengineering, screening of new bacteria, enzymes and other bioactive molecules, design and creation of molecular recognition materials and environmental nanobiotechnology.
