L. Kurt Midyett
Pediatric Endocrinology
Born and raised in Lawrence, Kansas, I attended the University of Kansas where I studied Chinese Language and Literature. After time studying abroad in Asia and then working in Alaska, I was accepted to the University of Kansas Medical School. I then completed my residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at KU Medical Center and a fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at Children’s Mercy Hospital. I served as the medical director of the Children’s Diabetes Center at Children’s Mercy, but with my adult and pediatric medicine background, I was interested in working in a clinical setting that would allow me to see patients of all ages, especially teens and young adults with diabetes and endocrine disorders who were transitioning to adult care.
