Biography

Mario Pirisi is full professor of Internal Medicine at the Università del Piemonte Orientale (UPO) and head of the Internal Medicine Division at the Maggiore della Carità University Hospital in Novara. Internal Medicine in-patients present the entire spectrum of conditions affecting the elderly admitted to an acute care facility, including the most common such as heart failure and acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
