Pirow Bekker
Senior Vice President of Medical and Clinical Affairs
Dr. Bekker has served as our Senior Vice President of Clinical and Medical Affairs since February 2009. From April 2005 to February 2009, Dr. Bekker served as our Vice President of Clinical and Medical Affairs. Prior to joining us, Dr. Bekker worked at Amgen Inc., where he served as Senior Director of Global Safety from July 2004 to April 2005 and as Senior Director of Clinical Development and Director of Clinical Development from December 1997 to July 2004. Prior to this, he served as a clinical researcher and scientist at Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals in various capacities for seven years. Dr. Bekker received his Ph.D. in molecular biology from Pennsylvania State University and his M.D. and medical training in South Africa at the University of Pretoria.
