Biography

Robert William Schrier was founding editor-in-chief of the magazine Nature Clinical Practice Nephrology. Schrier was formerly Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine for 26 years, and Head of the Division of Renal Diseases and Hypertension for 20 years.

Research Interest

pathogenesis of acute renal failure, genetic renal disorders, mechanisms of renal cell injury, diabetic nephropathy, and renal and hormonal control of body fluid volume in cirrhosis, cardiac failure, nephrotic syndrome, and pregnancy. He brings to his research a unique combination of expertise in body fluid control mechanisms, renal function, and cardiovascular function
