    Acrophobia: Detection and Treatment

    Acrophobia, sometimes known as a fear of heights, is a common and crippling anxiety illness that affects about 1 adult in 20 adults. Since 1995, Virtual Reality (VR) technology has been utilized to treat acrophobia psychologically. It has since taken over the management of many anxiety disorders. It is now well known that acrophobia treatment using virtual reality exposure therapy is quite successful. The review specifically focuses on current advancements in VR technology and explores the advantages it may provide for investigating the disorder's underlying causes by enabling the systematic assessment of relevant elements such as the visual, vestibular, and postural control systems.
