Biography

Ahmed M.Megreya complated B.A.in psychology with a grade of “Very Good” from the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, Menoufia University, Egypt, in 1996. His Diploma in Applied Psychology with a grade of “Very Good” from the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, Menoufia University, Egypt, in 1998.His  M. A. in Clinical Child Psychology with a grade of “Excellent” from the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, Menoufia University, Egypt, in
2000. The title of the thesis was “The Psychosocial Context of Attention- Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in Children” and Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the Department of Psychology,University of Glasgow, UK, in 2005. The title of the thesis was “Processing Unfamiliar Faces”.

Research Interest

Ahmed M. Megreya interested in visual cognition generally, and in face recognition particularly.From September 2002 so far, I am joining Professor Mike Burton’s face recognition lab group at the department of Psychology, University of Glasgow, UK. This is highly distinguished group consisted of several well-known researchers working on different
aspects of face processing. Very recently, I am interested in processing orientation, and the interference between local and global processing. In addition, I set up an Egyptian face matching database, which is used recently by researchers at some British Universities such as Glasgow, Aberdeen, and Essex.
