Biography

Dr. Andreas Dacho is a certified double-boarded otorhinolaryngologist and plastic surgeon. He received his medical degree at Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg, Germany. He was secretary of the oncologic workshop of the Tumor Center at the University of Heidelberg and research fellow at the Albert B. Chandler Hospital, Dept. of Medicine, University of Kentucky, Lexington, USA. He completed his ENT training at the Departments of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, University Hospital Heidelberg and the University of Leipzig, Germany. He was trained as a plastic surgeon at the BG Trauma Center Ludwigshafen, Dept. of Hand-, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Burn Center, University of Heidelberg and the Dept. of Plastic Surgery at the St. Josef Medical Center Essen, Germany. His scientifically focus is on ischemic preconditioning and the I/R injury and on facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Dacho is member of a variety of national and international societies (e.g. DGPRÄC, DGHNOKHC, EAFPS, ESPRAS, ISAPS, IPRAS), ENT Forum editorial board member, founding member of the “European Rhinoplasty Society e.V.” and is currently Chief of Nose Center, Dept. of Plastic Surgery, St. Josef Medical Center, Essen, Germany. He has authored or co-authored over fifty of peer-reviewed papers, presentations or book chapters and lectures at the University of Leipzig, Germany.
