Biography

Dr. Kaïs H. Al-Gubory graduated from the University of Baghdad in 1973 with a first class honours degree in Zoology and Microbiology. He worked for seven years in the same university as an academic assistant. He has received a PhD at the University of Rennes (France) in 1987. He spent the
next 2 years as a post-doctoral researcher at the Animal Physiology Department of the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA). His major research lies in understanding ovarian, luteal, uterine and placental physiology during pregnancy. He is engaged in the development and use of livecell imaging technology. He is the first to validate a fibered confocal fluorescence microscopy with Cellvizio® technology to observe apoptosis in tissues of the living animals and to monitor tissue architecture in organs of animals expressing the GFP gene. His more recent researches have focussed on antioxidants, oxidative stress, maternal nutrition and prenatal developmental outcomes.

Research Interest

Kais H Al-Gubory Research intests includes Animal reproduction and developmental biology, peri-implantation biology, maternal-foetal interactions, free radical biology, physiological adaptation to oxidative stress, monitoring oxidative stress biomarkers and apoptosis, Peri-conception antioxidant nutrition and fertility.
