Biography

Dr. Kevin M. Reavis completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at Ohio State University in June 2007 and joined the UC Irvine faculty thereafter as an assistant clinical professor in the division of Gastrointestinal Surgery. Dr.Reavis received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville. He received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and completed his residency in General Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland  and has completed several postgraduate training courses in laparoscopic surgery. Reavis is an active leader in the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the American College of Surgeons, the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract and the American Medical Association. He has received several awards for his clinical work and research. His main research interests include diseases of the foregut, surgical instrument innovation, endolumenal therapies and surgical education.
