Biography

Dr Lin is an Assistant Professor in the Section of Thoracic Surgery at the University of Michigan. He is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and received his undergraduate degree with highest distinction at Indiana University in 1995. He completed his General Surgical Residency in 2006 at the University of Michigan. During this time, he also completed a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship in 2003 and research fellowship in the Thoracic Surgery Oncology Laboratory in 2004 with the support of a National Research Service Award from the National Institutes of Health. He completed his Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency at the University of Washington.

Research Interest

Dr Lin research interests include investigating the molecular biology of esophageal and lung carcinoma and translation of these findings into methods to improve patient care including the development of new techniques for screening, staging, and tailoring therapies for individual patients. His research is currently being supported with grants from the Research Advisory Committee in the Department of Surgery and a research grant from the Thoracic Surgery Foundation for Research and Education.
