Biography

Dr. Orion Mowbray have received an MA in sociology from Eastern Michigan University (2008), an MS in psychology from the University of Michigan, and completed his MSW from the University of Michigan in 2010. He will have received his PhD in the joint social work and psychology program at the University of Michigan in 2013. His research interests seek to combine the areas of social work and psychology, such that he take a broad interest in how social interaction can shape individual experiences among persons with a serious mental illness, a substance use disorder, or are navigating mental health service delivery systems. He is particularly interested in how people are influence to seek treatment for health-related problems and what occurs within the confines of treatment promote positive outcomes. Additional research of mine within mental health and substance use service usage examines the problems and solutions associated with sustainability of evidence-based practices.
