Rao N. Jaladanki is an Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery, University of Maryland School of Medicine Research Health Scientist at VA Maryland Health Care System Baltimore MD. He has received a PhD in Endocrinology from Sri Venkateswara University Tirupati AP India in 19851992. He was a recipient of the Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship Award in 1993. He is currently serving as a reviewer for several scientific journals and published 65 research articles in various peer reviewed journals.

Research Interest

Cellular and molecular mechanisms of gastrointestinal (GI) mucosal healing. Cellular signal in maintenance of gut epithelial integrity. Epithelial cell renewal, growth arrest, and apoptosis. K+ channels, TRP channels, and intracellular Ca2+ in GI epithelial cells. Cytoskeleton and intercellular junctions in epithelial cells. Role of Cellular Polyamines in GI mucosal homeostasis.
