Abstract :

Background: There is very scant information related to labia majoralabioplasty. Objective: To review existing scientific-clinical literature on labia majoralabioplasty; to review anecdotal information on labia majoralabioplasty; to review marketing literature on labia majoralabioplasty Methods: Electronic and manual searches of the literature were reviewed on labia majoralabioplasty. Results: There were only two publications identified in the clinical-scientific literature (Felicio, Y., 2007; Di Saia, J.P., 2008).Both of these articles presented the same techniques of skin excision with sub dermal fat tissue. This technique causes a flattening appearance of the labia majora. Anecdotal information (syllabus of the advanced cosmetic-plastic gynecologic course\workshop, Institute of Gynecology, Inc., St. Petersburg, FL, U.S.A., June 2011), Ostrzenski, 2011. Ostrzenski introduced this technique by means of labia majora skin resection from the fat tissue sac which preserves semi- ballooning appearance of the labia majora. Also, Ostrzenski introduced a new technique of colles? fascia reconstruction and termed this technique labiopexy. Conclusion: There is very scanty published material related to labia majoralabioplasty.
