Abstract :

Background: Filler is one of the most common procedures in aesthetic practice, a high variety of dermal fillers range from the highly safe to lethal complication in some occasions. Material’s components, manufactures, technique of injections and experience of practitioners are variable. The black market in medical aesthetic practice worldwide still exists in spite of the registry restriction and variable complication with questionable safety. Permanent fillers can cause permanent problems to local areas and general health in some patients, on the other hand the temporary soft tissue fillers in form of hydraulic acid or collagen are highly recommended for its safety and rarity of its complication.

Case: In this, a young lady was presented with sub-acute unusual complication of unknown hyaluronic acid fillers, from unknown clinic and injector. This case is treated with permanent fillers with side effects like swelling, ulceration, infection and discharge of the material. Such a presentation is unusual and severe for the known safe temporary dermal injections. Moreover, for its short term presentation, the structure of the material and the clinical features are different from the usual. This uncommon complications course and management were discussed.
