FRANCESCO PADUANO
PostDOC at Tecnologica Research institute (Crotone, Italy) in Regenerative Medicine and Mesenchymal stem cells of Oral origin. Crotone, Italy.
Dr. Francesco Paduano worked as postgraduate fellow at the Department of Experimental Oncology and Molecular Medicine, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale Tumori in Milan, since August 2003 till August 2006. During this period, he actively participated in research projects focused on the development of antisense-based approaches aimed to interfering with survivin and telomerase expression and functions in human tumour models. In this context he acquired skills in the most of basic technics in cellular and molecular biology. He is co-author in two papers. In addition he contributed to the evaluation of anticancer effects of gold diphosphine derivatives. Our results indicate that gold compounds markedly inhibit melanoma cell growth by inducing mitochondria-mediated apoptosis and therefore propose them as a valued candidate as anticancer agents. FP has acquired expertise in evaluation of anticancer drugs using a variety of in vitro assays. His work leaded to a co-authorship in two papers.
